 2018 Preview 


       The Snook Christian Eagles will field a football team for the first time this fall. They will be led by head football coach Keith Smith as they prepare for their initial season on the gridiron.




       The Eagles are led by head coach Keith Smith who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 5-5 record in his first season at Snook Christian. The Eagles saw improvement from a 0-0 record the season before coach Smith arrived. The Eagles have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Smith.

       Coach Smith's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 5-5 (50.0%).

       The Snook Christian Eagles will play in Class A region one during the 2018 season. The Eagles will have a difficult time competing in Class A with a young team in their initial season.

       This season, the Eagles will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region one.

       The Eagles open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Escambia Academy on Friday, August 24 at Bachelor Field. Last year the Escambia Academy Cougars finished with an overall record of 12-1 and in second place in Class AA region two. The Cougars won the Class AA State Championship last season when they defeated Autauga Academy by a score of 30-20 in Troy.

       This will be the second meeting between Snook Christian and Escambia Academy on the football field. The Eagles have a 0-1-0 record against the Cougars. They last met in with

The Super 6 State Championships began in 1996. Since then all title games were played at Legion Field in Birmingham until 2009.
